Morning Caprice Pt. 1.
I plan to do more with this picture, which is why I named it "part 1". Like actually color it in, but I didn't want to be up all night long either finishing it. I have to confess I got a late start on today's post for all that I wanted to do... but I wanted to go to bed at a decent time more.
This vintage Caprice belongs to an old man who lives at a senior citizens' home just up the street from my house. I see it whenever I go for my morning walk.

Differences.
The beauty of being human is that we are entitled to make our own decisions, even if there are strong willed people around us who may not like or agree with those decisions. There are those said people out there who need to be reminded of this quote.

11:11.
I downloaded a new font pack today that had some bonus symbols included. I began this one at 11:11PM and just worked quickly to get it posted before midnight. The number 11 (or to see 11:11 on a clock regularly) is to some a powerful and lucky number, and is associated with a heightened state of awareness.

Live For Today
Another cemetery post... kept it simple since I didn't have much time to throw something complex together. My husband and I on a whim decided to hit a pro baseball game tonight. The cemetery reminds me to have fun now; because one never knows when it'll all be over with.

150 Year Old Cemetery.
Just around the corner from my house is a cemetery that has been around for over 150 years. There are Civil War soldiers buried there who died during the war. A couple of our state governors are buried there as well. This is one grave that has always taken my eye.

Minimalist Elizabethtown Movie Poster.
I love this movie. I've wanted to do a minimalist poster for a while now using some kind of item out of the movie that has essentially become a character aside from the actors. The blue suit played a pretty big role, in my opinion. On a side note, this movie has a killer soundtrack.

Effing Yeah.
I saw this same verbiage on a t-shirt one time except it said Lawrence. I went to high school in Effingham. This would work on a t-shirt too.

Groovy Flowers.
I saw this pattern on some old coffee mugs at an antique store this weekend. Thought it was cute enough to draw myself.

Old Workhorse.
I was on one of my outdoor walks and discovered this old truck about a couple of miles from my house. I just had to get a picture of it for a poster- to some it's an old junky truck, to others it's a workhorse, to me it's colorful and interesting.

Mocha.
So as I was washing dishes this morning, I had a couple of glasses that had some dark chocolate syrup & soy milk stuck to the bottom from my husband making us homemade iced mochas this week. I put some hot water in each glass to let them soak before putting in dishwasher, and one gave me an unexpected, randomly cool effect once the chocolate & milk started to loosen up. Add in some Photoshop, and this is what I have.

Plan B.
So this post isn't what I initially planned. I had this cool 3D text thing but I had a bit of a fail. I used a Windows laptop today instead of my Mac with no way to configure the video to make it work. This is a quick shot of my bar chips I didn't eat while with some friends tonight. I applied a cool filter with an app on my phone.

Gradient Stripe.
I'm a little annoyed, my down arrow key on my Macbook popped off tonight and I haven't been able to get it back on quite right. Might have to take it to the Apple store tomorrow. Lining up these shapes was a little more challenging without my down arrow.

Sketches.
Tonight I checked out 20 Ways to Draw a Tree by Eloise Renouf. Here's a few random sketches from my sketchbook after following along.

How to be exceptional.
Great quote. I felt that a bucket of locks fits it perfectly.... the locks symbolize one's inhibitions to do awesome stuff.

4U2P.
I have this hanging up in my bathroom. There are already 4U2P signs hanging up in Jimmy John's restaurants, and that is where I got this idea. Having visitors over is fun. When they use our bathroom, we don't tell them about it beforehand and let them notice while they're in there.

Another Cat.
Here's another shot of one of the shelter cats from the photo walk last night. I decided to have some fun with this image, which initially didn't turn out great. This little guy was quite the feisty kitty, but he did sit still long enough for me to get a few shots. That's the beauty of Photoshop, you can turn a not-so-great shot into something totally unexpected.
Getting ideas of how I can pester my own cats more with the camera...

Photo Walk.
Tonight my husband and I did a photo walk at a local no-kill pet shelter with an Adobe enthusiasts group for creatives that we belong to. We spent the evening shooting pictures of the facility to donate back to them for marketing materials, and whatever else they need pictures for. This precious kitty was willing to pose for me. If we didn't already have 2 in our small house, I think we'd go back this weekend to adopt. It was a moving experience.

Give Me Evergreens.
This is my favorite line from one of my very favorite songs: I Don't Want to Live There by The Lonely Forest. The band is from the Pacific Northwest and this song is an ode.

Doodals.
I found a really awesome site called dood.al that creates fractals based on lines and shapes you draw. I decided to post 2 pictures today. It includes a video on the site of what you can do with it (which has way better examples than I have here), but it's very cool.
